News Times: Blumenthal invites war hero to attends State of the Union
The News Times reports:
Sandra Lee volunteered.
She served — eight years, much of it in Iraq.
She suffered — both in combat and from an attack by one of her own.
On Tuesday, the Army veteran from Manchester will be the guest of Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., at the State of the Union address. She’ll also have a chance to talk with Blumenthal’s colleagues in the Senate about veterans’ issues, including the PTSD she still endures, and the pernicious issue of military sexual assault — she was raped by a fellow soldier.
