After I posted this item, I received an email from Protect Our Defenders, a support group for victims in military sexual assault cases. It cites a report in The Guardian: The victim in this case testified that she had endured “public humiliation” and was relieved when the trial was over. She said: “The actions taken by General Franklin are shocking and disappointing … What really scares me is that [the perpetrator] will remain in a position of military leadership. Really? Leadership?”
