Finally, Word From the Top on Rape in the Military

The SF Gate Editorial Board reports on Protect Our Defenders and our Honorary Chair Rep. Jackie Speier:

Pentagon research has found that 26,000 military personnel experienced unwanted sexual contact last year. Protect Our Defenders, an advocacy group, noted that the Pentagon found 56 percent of the victims of sexual assault in the military are men. Rep. Jackie Speier, D-Hillsborough, has federal legislation to change the military justice system so that sexual assault cases are reviewed by an independent agency.
