The Legal Services Program at Protect Our Defenders cannot guarantee that you will receive legal representation, though we will do our best to determine how best we might be able to assist you and your case. Our purview is sexual assault and sexual harassment in the military justice system, and we are unable to assist with other forms of assault, harassment, and discrimination.
In order to potentially qualify for assistance from POD’s Legal Services Program:
- You must be a victim of military sexual assault or sexual harassment
- Your assailant must be subject to the jurisdiction of the UCMJ:
- Active-duty servicemember
- Reservist or National Guard on Title 10 orders
- Retired service member, who committed the offense while in service
- The statute of limitations for the crime committed against you must not be expired
