Rep. Walz Bill to Help Veterans
Winona Daily News reports on Congressman Tim Walz (D-Minnesota), who introduced a bill in the House of Representatives on Tuesday that calls for review of the records of 31,000 veterans who may have been improperly discharged:
Walz hopes the bill will address what may have been thousands of failures to diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder in veterans and instead diagnosing them with a personality disorder, meaning the veterans would not be eligible for several benefits … And records show the personality disorder diagnosis is used disproportionately on women, including those who report sexual assaults, according to Walz’s statement.
