I was at boot camp at Fort Jackson, SC. It was Sept. 6, 1980. I was on fireguard duty in the barracks. I was waking around inside and outside of the barracks while on duty. I was outside walking around when I was tackled to the ground from behind. I was about 120-130 lbs. and the person who tackled me was a lot heavier. His left hand was on the back of my head as he pulled my pants down around my ankles. He then raped me. I was in shock and scared to death. I had blood on me and was in a lot of pain. I never told anyone until October 2014. I am receiving help at my local VA. What happened to me in 1980 has ruined my life even to this day. Maybe somebody else out there will come forward, even if it takes 34 years like me.
