I am currently Active Duty in the US Army. I was sexually assaulted repeatedly by a Command Sergeant Major on deployment in Afghanistan. After filing the unrestricted report two years ago, and an expedited transfer, I am still currently awaiting trial. Meanwhile having to work, with little support from my current unit, and being diagnosed with PTSD. The process of reporting sexual assault in the military is so difficult and hard on the victim that I can understand why so little of the military victims come forward. If you are reading this and having a hard time coming forward I completely understand but its worth the wait and the hardship.
